A recent attempt to crowdsource for ideas has surprised the
founders of Asia’s first online obituary website, Obpedia.com with strong participation in its Eulogy
writing competition.
“In conjunction with Obpedia.com and YouthsToday.com to promote Filial Piety among college
youths and also to promote English writing in colleges, we came up with the idea for an eulogywriting
competition and we were pleasantly surprised,” said founders Kevin Leow and Jason Cheong.
“We thought the response would be poor as we felt that the younger generation of Malaysians are
generally out of touch of values such as filial piety, but we are glad to be wrong,” said Leow.
Winners are Jassie Looi, Kum Peng Han & Lisa Yeo
Were selected based on criteria such as:
1. Title: Appreciating our ancestors and loved ones
2. Theme: Cherished moments
3. Elements in Eulogy: Memorial, Beautiful memories, Treasured moments, Honouring, Legacy and
Tributes.
They won RM 2,000.00, RM 1,500.00 and RM800.00 respectively.
“We are very pleased to see many wanting to write about their ancestors using the above guide and
the stories were indeed very inspirational and truly touched”
About Obpedia.com :
Obpedia.com is Asia’s first internet based portal that provides a place to create Obituary, Memorials,
Pet memorials & sending messages through e-mails and mobile phone. This portal provides a
specific site that is interactive for posting information and also acts as a notification service for direct
and personal invitation to relatives and friends on information such as the location of the funeral
wake service, memorial services, religious prayer times, cremation and burial information.
Many times we have forgotten our distant relatives and friends that we have not met for many
years. It’s during the funeral wake services is where we see them again and keep the connected
again. However there are times that we have even forgotten to notify them due to the stress,
emotional and grieving state of mind that we are in, during the loss of a loved one.
It is a web portal for the families, friends and the loved ones to access the obituary of the departed
and to express condolences messages, tribute's and sharing of memorable stories, photo's and
video’s. These moments are irreplaceable. The portal also creates a family tree should family
members connect to our site. This will create a great ancestral family tree, years later for the
families.
Our latest product is “Pre-Obituary” that allows the living to host with us their Obituary
advertisement and notification, with many other value added products such as 2D Hologram video -
that allows the living to leave messages to his/her loved ones with him/her leaving messages of
his/her aspirations and dreams or messages that he could not leave to his loved while he was alive.
Obpedia.com is the place for the future generations to remember, treasure and memorized the
achievement of the dearly departed. Many of our customers have appreciated our services by
notifying their long forgotten distant relatives.
Obpedia.com (was previously known as E-Obituary.com.my) was launched by YB Datuk Haji Fadillah
Yusof, the former Deputy Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation in 2011.

Sebelum menjamu selera, peserta  SMCC1M sempat diberikan penerangan serba sedikit mengenai sejarah Kellie’s Castle sebelum meneruskan perjalanan  ke Belum Rainforest Resort.

Pelancongan Eko Belum Rainforest Resort

Jom Jadi Ranger Alam

Jika anda ingin melawat Royal Belum dan menyiasat keistimewaan hutan hujan Belum – Temenggor, program Green Ranger menawarkan satu pengalaman serba baru.
